Volunteering

Volunteering at the Burns Trust

Volunteers play a crucial role in assisting the Julian Burton Burns Trust to reduce the incidence and impact of burn injury through education resource packing for the BurnSafe Schools program, education delivery at community events, through to event planning, general office operations and skilled roles including strategy, planning, media consulting or policy.

We welcome both individuals and corporate groups to join us on an ongoing basis or even just for a day. Corporate Volunteering is a vital component of a Coporate Social Responsibility program and has significant value for the Burns Trust in achieving our outcomes. It is a great way to provide new and interesting opportunities for staff engagement.

For more information or to register your interest please contact Julie-Ann on 08 7220 2197 or email reception@burnstrust.com.au.

FIRST AID QUICK GUIDE
In an emergency call 000
1. REMOVE
Remove any clothing and jewellery from the affected area to allow effective cooling of the burn.
2. COOL
Cool the burn under cool running water for 20 minutes - this will stop the burning process and also help ease the pain.
3. COVER
Cover the burn with a clean lint free cloth or if it is a large area, cover loosely with cling wrap to lessen the chance of infection.
4. SEEK
Seek medical advice if the burn is larger than a 20 cent piece or on the face, hands, feet or groin area.
